Key points
- Our customers actively contribute to the product road map.
- New versions are not deployed in production environments until they are not been defined as stable by the technical team.
- Not all road maps of Athento suite products are public.
- This policy does not apply to bug fixing.
How do we decide which features must be implemented
The main factor to make this decision are the requests of our customers, although there are other factors.
When a customer requests a new feature:
- Our Product Marketing team evaluates the suggested feature.
- Our Product Marketing determines whether the feature can benefit other customers.
- If so, it is included as a task for the Product Development team on Jira.
- The feature is developed according to the priority and planning of the Product Development team.
In addition to the requests of our clients, other factors that help us prioritize the new features are:
- Product strategy: Athento's vision of its products, for example, Athento will always give priority to the features that contribute to the task automation for its customers.
- Usage analytics: The features most used by customers, the features that are used but the client perceives as limited, etc., are some of the factors that help determine that a feature is important.
- Trials: Feedback from users who test the tool for the first time.
- Athento Consultants: Our first line consultants who are working on ECM and document capture projects by getting direct feedback from users' needs.
How does Athento determine the priority and plan the development of a new feature
The priority of a feature is defined by the the number of requests it gets from customers. In some cases, clients can benefit from other customers which hire the development of the feature, making the feature development go ahead of schedule.
Athento works with iterations that last between 3 to 4 weeks. A certain group of tasks enters into the planning and they are executed according to their priority. Athento uses SCRUM for Product Development.
