Cloud Service Exit Plan
- Verónica Meza
Athento has an exit plan for clients who do not wish to continue using the cloud service. These clients will have access to their documents via two different mechanisms:
CMIS Migration (recommended)
This client data migration process is based on the CMIS standard and requires the following:
The client must have their own document management system.
The system must support CMIS 1.0 or higher.
The client must provide Athento with the necessary conditions to access their document management system.
CMIS is the OASIS specification for content management interoperability. It allows for communication between client and server in HTTP (REST with JSON, AtomPub or SOAP) by using a unified domain model. The latest version is CMIS 1.1.
Athento supports CMIS through the following modules:
The Apache Chemistry OpenCMIS library, maintained by Nuxeo and others, which is a general purpose Java library that lets developers write CMIS clients and servers with ease.
A specific Nuxeo OpenCMIS connector that allows Nuxeo to be used as a CMIS server. The CMIS server is included on the Nuxeo platform (versions 5.8+).
Athento Smart Engine's CMIS connector, which allows for the execution of bidirectional processes between repositories and Athento.
Athento 3.0 CMIS connector.
Exporting to a File Service
If you do not have a CMIS repository, the documents and their metadata can be exported to a file-based system. The documents will be exported as files in the original format in which they were uploaded to the software while the metadata will be exported as XML files. Athento products provide clients with options for exporting their cloud-based content themselves, as shown in the following screenshot:
Migration Costs
Athento provides clients who wish to exit the Athento cloud with both of these data export methods for free. Should clients require Athento staff to carry out the process on their behalf, the service will be charged at the price established by Athento, which stands at approximately €120 per hour of service.
Notice of Migration
For migrations that require intervention by Athento's technical team (Enterprise products), the client must provide notice of at least 30 working days. This is because the team must include this migration in its planning.
Migration Tests
For migrations that require intervention by Athento's technical team, reviews will be carried out after migration. These tests will be carried out according to the:
Number of documents
